Rossbrook House - 2012 Grad Dinner

As part of our ongoing support to Rossbrook House, we sponsor the annual Graduation dinner, held in June each year.

Sons of Italy supplies the dinner for the approximately 150 students and parents. With great volunteer support, we set-up in advance of their 45 minute ceremony, then serve the dinner and clean up.

Dinner of course is an Italian affair: bread sticks, salads (caesar and chefs) and lasagna.

Challenge for Life - SOI Team

The Challenge for Life is a 20k Walk that will take participants through some of Winnipeg's most beautiful and historic neighborhoods on Saturday, June 9th, 2012.

The walk was created by the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation to help Manitobans reduce their risk of cancer and increase awareness for ALL cancers, while raising significant funds to support CancerCare Manitoba's work on behalf of Manitobans and their families living with cancer.

Sons of Italy will again have a team walking. In 2011, the SOI Team, with 23 members, raised an amazing $38,975. In only our second year of participation, we were the third top team!

Garibaldi / Lupa / Da Vinci Joint Meeting & BBQ

Our June meeting features a joint meeting with Lupa Di Roma lodge and Leonardo Da Vinci lodge. Our season-ending meeting will be held at Villa Nova and includes a fantastic BBQ dinner and a very short meeting to wrap-up our year.

Please note that the BBQ is a bring your own wine event!

Following the dinner, at about 8 pm, we will head out to the Waverly Sports Complex #1 to watch the F.C Lions Soccer team play Winnipeg Juventus. Soccer admission is free (paid by SOI).

Cost: $25 (includes BBQ steak dinner)
Date: THURSDAY June 14 (not a Wednesday mtg)
Time: 6:00 p.m.

Our monthly meeting of SOI members. This is a business meeting that includes some networking time, dinner and a full meeting to discuss the current activities of the Sons of Italy.

Meeting cost, including dinner: $25 (paid at the meeting)

Members may bring a guest if they are a potential member wishing to learn more about us. The normal dinner cost ($25) is waived for guests.

Prospective Member Night

Members are encouraged to bring a prospective member to this meeting. We will be having a wonderful dinner followed by a light business meeting and a presentation on who we are and what we do -- a great introduction for those who are thinking about joining.

And don't forget about the membership drive -- you could win by merely bringing a prospective member to a meeting if they join!

The event will be held at Piazza De Nardi, 1365 Taylor Avenue at Waverly (map), with plenty of free parking.

First-time guests are free, members $30

Member Meeting - Christmas

Our December meeting of SOI members, with a special dinner prepared at Villa Nova.

The meeting will feature a fabulous menu, prepared by Sorrento's on Ellice.

You are welcome to bring your own wine to this event. We will also be serving panettone and espresso!

This is a great dinner and only a light meeting to discuss the current activities and plans for the Christmas Eve Feast, and the Annual Gala among others.
