The Order Sons of Italy held its
25th Anniversary Gala Dinner on Saturday March 19, 2011 in the main floor Ball Room at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.
This acclaimed event demonstrated the philanthropic spirit of Sons of Italy and the caring and giving that Winnipeggers, their businesses and leaders are known for.

This year's Charity of Choice was the
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. This established organization provides research and support to individuals and families affected by heart disease and stroke. One only has to know a person who has suffered a heart attack or stroke, to understand their priceless commitment and work in our community.
We also donated to two "helping hand charities" at the Gala.
The Canadian Hero Fund, an organization that provides scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen Canadian soldiers. Our second helping hand charity was the
Dante Alighieri Italian Cultural Society, who has been teaching the Italian language to Winnipeg children and adults for over 40 years.
Our keynote speaker was Canada's newest Minister of Public Safety, the
Honourable Vic Toews, MP (Provencher).
We were very excited to have as our 25th anniversary Gala's honourary co-chairs
The Honourable Don Plett, Senator for the Province of Manitoba,
Mr. Bob Irving of Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, and
Mr. Reno Molinari representing Order Sons of Italy.

This year’s dinner theme was centered on our “
Passion of Giving” as well as celebrating Sons of Italy's 25 years of
accomplishments in the community.
